It's all about Texture ......

Happy Monday .......

Sorry I'm late ...... TT fortnight is getting in the way!!!  We've had another glorious day here on the Isle of Man and a great day of racing.  Hutchy (Ian Hutchinson) was a little 'too hot to handle' ...... he won both of his races today, smashing both the lap and the race records!!!

Seeing as we've no Guy Martin racing this year .... we're cheering for Hutchy to win. Plus members of his pit crew are staying next door!!!!

Anyway ..... enough about the TT ....... it's Challenge time again.  This time it's the turn of the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media challenge. This month the theme is Texture

I love adding texture to my projects and there are so many ways you can do this.  You can use textured papers, or create your own using an embossing folder.  Add fabric or lace, die cuts or metal embellishments.  Use paints or, one of my favourites ......... texture paste

This was inspired by a workshop I ran for a group of crafty ladies ..... CAS ish with a little bit of Mixed Media thrown in.

I added some colour to a piece of white cardstock using the acetate smooshing technique (love doing this at the moment!)  I started with a little Twisted Citron Distress then added a bit of depth using Mowed Lawn .....

Next came a little bit of stamping using some texture stamps around the edges and through the centre

Then came the texture paste ....... white paste through one of my favourite stencils ..... the honeycomb by MemoryBox.
Whilst the paste was wet I sprinkled on a mixture of white and gold detail embossing powders and then heat set.  This is so cool to do ..... the embossing powder heats up along with the texture paste and it bubbles slightly giving that bit of extra texture to it.  Mind you don't heat it too much though ... it will burn!!

I then stamped the flowers from the HLS Doodled Flowers stamp set onto white card, coloured them using Distress Inks then fussy cut them before adding them to the front of my card.

I finished off the front with a sentiment ..... also from the Doodled Flowers set

And added more of the design to the inside ......

Acetate smooshing ........ texture stamps ....... and another of those pretty blooms

Now it's your turn ..... Happy stamping!
The challenge is sponsored by the Happy Little Stampers store

And the winner will receive a $15 discount to spend in the store

Need some more inspiration ...... then pop over to the HLS Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have been up to.
We also have a fabulous Guest Designer this month ..... the talented Sara from Sara's Closet is joining in the fun ...... you've got to check out her inspiration piece, it's gorgeous ..... full of texture!!

Thanks for popping by .... enjoy the rest of your day.

Cheerio until next time
